GTworld MOO

The GTworld MOO was set up by a groupwho were involved with the TAG Writing Project at GrassRoots MOO. Afterthat project ceased we thought the experience was so valuable that we setup our own MOO which (unlike GrassRoots) is totally dedicated to the needsof gifted children and their parents.

Our MOO is a multi-user domain into which one may travel to talk in realtime with other GT World members. It is a virtual world to explore withopportunities for creative descriptive writing, as well as programming. The MOO is also a place you are encouraged to bring your children. You canjoin the MOO by sending an e-mail request for a login and password to gtworld@listserv.icors.org.Although a regular telnet client will work to access GTworld, most peoplefind that a MUD client like Phoca or MacMoose make their MOOing more pleasantby providing additional features, such as the all-important chat buffer!

Some firm guidelines have been established to provide a relatively safeenvironment. No guest log-ins will be available so it will be necessaryfor you to acquire a log-in before you may access GTworld. If you are interestedin joining us please send an e-mail to gtworld@listserv.icors.org to request a log-in.Your log-in and password will then be forwarded to you via e-mail. Onceyou receive them, clicking on this link telnet://moo.gtworld.org:8888will take you automatically to the moo, provided you have a telnet clientconfigured as a helper application on your browser. Alternatively, if youare running a java-enabled browser (Netscape 3.0, IE 3.0, or above), you might like to connect using the HotMudSlide Java MUD client

GTworld is a lot of fun. We provide each other with much support(and the occasional game of global tag!) and are eager to let others enjoythis creative virtual environment. You will find us to be a friendly andwelcoming group. Please consider dropping by to say hello sometime.
